Manveer smiling straight on into the camera

Manveer Singh is a composer and musician.  He studied tabla and composition with the tabla maestro, Sarvar Sabri, at Birmingham Conservatoire for six years, following a change of career from surveying when he was diagnosed with a rare degenerative eyesight disorder. 

Manveer has a keen interest in compositional styles from around the world and has worked with musicians from diverse genres including West African, Middle Eastern, jazz, gospel and Western classical music. 

He has performed at venues including The Sage Gateshead, Symphony Hall Birmingham, The Lowry Centre, Manchester and WOMAD 2006 and appeared with Scott Matthews on Jools Holland’s ‘Later’ show on BBC2 and on Radio 2.  Manveer has completed two national tours of his own production, called ‘My Journey’.
